There are two different courses offered for Geo Strategies catering to all
levels of ability. MapInfo for beginners and MapInfo for intermediate users
exposes you to general mapping concepts and provides you with an overview of crucial techniques
including geocoding, layering , querying data, labeling, and much more.
MapInfo for advanced users expands
upon your knowledge by delving into MapInfo Professional’s more complex features such as thematic
mapping, SQL select, editing workspaces and using raster images.
These courses are taught using the latest version of MapInfo Professional.
A thorough understanding of Graphical User Interfaces as well as Windows 95 experience is highly
recommended. |
MapBasic Programming Language

In this course, you’ll learn to utilise the MapBasic programming language
to customise MapInfo Professional. This comprehensive introductory course will cover the syntax of
MapBasic, as well as examining and coding programs that will automate repetitive tasks, extend
MapInfo Professional’s capabilities and more. This course has been enhanced to include all new
programs/projects designed for MapInfo Professional. A thorough knowledge of MapInfo Professional is
required. Previous programming experience is helpful, especially with some form of a BASIC language.
This course is instructed using MapInfo Professional and MapBasic. |
Programming with MapInfo MapX

This course will provide you with a thorough understanding of the
capabilities of MapInfo MapX. You will be taken step-by-step through a complete sample application
to introduce the OCX and its features. In several practical hands-on exercises you will build
applications from scratch. Finally, you will learn to use a utility program that uses MapInfo
MapX data sets. This course is valuable for software developers and programmers who want to
add mapping to their 32-bit Windows applications. A basic understanding of desktop mapping concepts
and procedural programming is assumed. The programming exercises will be done in Microsoft Visual
Basic. A familiarity with the Visual Basic development environment is extremely useful. |
Introduction to Vertical Mapper

This course is taught using Vertical Mapper
3.0. The introductory course is
designed to demonstrate and explore the core features of Vertical Mapper. End users will benefit
from this dynamic hands-on course by gaining an understanding of grid technology and “smart
raster” analysis. |
Introduction to RouteView
|

This course will introduce RouteView
Pro, an application which increases the
functionality of MapInfo by providing some key network calculations. End users or travelling
salespersons will benefit fro\m the optimisation provided by
RouteView Pro, in calculation of the
shortest or fastest route based on a road network and drive times and distances. |
