Although we have supplied data and carried out data capture for a variety of international
customers in 11 countries, we are particularly pleased with a 22 man-month contract we carried out in the
United Kingdom.
On a consultancy basis - working in the UK - we classified over 5,000,000 households,
aggregated into enumeration districts using advanced statistical methods. This resulted in a huge array of
Huff models which were used to target D, E & F households. While this appears similar to the type of
targeting carried out by, for example, supermarkets, the concept of drive-time was of little relevance to
the lower income groups. Here, walking-time was more appropriate.
The implication of a walking-time model meant that far more precision than normal was
required from the various analyses.
Customised thematic maps were provided to the field workers on a daily basis so that they
could plan, organise and control their agent campaign. This allowed a small team to identify and set up
over 7,000 agents in a very short period, and with a high degree of assurance that they were targeting the
right demographic areas.
