Apart from producing a number of special maps showing both the national and regional electricity distribution networks, we have produced a special networking application for the medium (200KV) network.  This has details of the entire network on a regional basis captured in the form of a nodal network, together with details of switching stations and similar.  Using standard graph and tree algorithms, it is then possible to calculate optimum re-routing strategies in the event of line or switch failure.

Taking into account demographic information, the controllers can quickly re-optimise the network in the event of failure.
