We produce clutter maps for the radio telecommunications industry.  They are used to refine the prediction models according to the characteristics of the underlying terrain.  In essence, where the Fresnel zone intersects the underlying terrain, the radio waves are refracted or absorbed according to the land cover.

Commonly we offer either six or twelve classes of clutter.  The most common classes - provided as polygons - are:

Forest
Urban area
Rural area
Inland water
Swamp
Open land

If more detailed or recent data are required, we offer an updating service.  Updating is usually undertaken with satellite imagery - mainly using Landsat &/or SPOT.  The classes we provide most frequently are:

Dense urban

High residential
Low residential
Industrial area
Semi open area
Open area
Forest
Low plantation
High plantation
Wetland
Inland water

We can supply clutter data sets either as vectors (polygons) or as raster according to user requirements.
