This map shows the soils (or pedology) for Romania, subdivided into 82 separate, recognised categories.  It was created from a very detailed original at 1:1 000 000

The map itself consists of 1,431 polygons, each of which may be separately identified: this means that, using any of the common GIS packages, it is possible to identify and calculate the areas of individual outcrops and to combine soil types.

More importantly, by combining this dataset with other datasets (for example a slope map, a geological map, a rainfall map or a hydrological map - all of which are available from Geo Strategies), it is possible to model interactions and identify investment opportunities e.g. for chemical utilisation in agriculture, and for similar applications.

This map is ideal for -

The data can be provided in all the common GIS formats.  It is also available as a raster image for draping over other datasets.
