This rainfall map is based on data collected over a 100 year period at 174 official meteorological
stations maintained by the Romanian National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology.
Isolines of rainfall have been produced using bi-cubic interpolation at 12,000 data points based on a
Delauney triangulation. This provides the best possible estimate of 100-year averages for the entire
territory of Romania.
This map is ideal for -
• Agricultural planning
• Hydrological planning
• Run-off predictions
• Logistical planning
• Radio propagation analysis (clutter)
• Hazard analysis
A companion map shows rainfall intensity (daily maxima) for the same period and with the same spatial
resolution.
The data can be provided in all the common GIS formats.
There are a number of interactive maps of Romania and you
can download sample data for evaluation if you wish.
