The demographic map for Romania is based on data from the National Commission of Statistics and contains information for all towns, communes and villages based on the 1992 census, plus updates for 1997.

The data can be provided in several forms:

      • As a dedicated demographic map

      • As attached attributes to a 1:500 000 map

      • As attached attributes to a 1:200 000 map

The demographic map shows isolines of population density taking into account individual population data for the whole country: they are calculated using Dirichlet tessellation of the basic dataset, followed by bi-cubic interpolation.

These datasets are ideal for -

      • Radio, telephone and highways planning

      • Health analysis

      • Education planning

      • Resource planning in disaster situations

The data can be provided in all the common GIS formats.

 There are a number of interactive maps of Romania and you can download sample data for evaluation if you wish.
