Mapping

These are the base-maps for Romania which are available at two levels of content derived from detailed originals. They include roads, rail, settlements, the road network and also contextual geography. They also contain full details of the hydrography (lakes and rivers) and can be supplied with contour lines or hypsography. Both the road and the river system are topologically correct based on a link-node structure. The product codes for these two datasets are as follows:

	RO-Top-500K	Topographic map based on 500k originals.
	RO-Top-200K	Topographic map based on 200k originals.
	RO-Top-100K	Maps at 1:100k for Bucharest city area.
	RO-Top-50K	Maps at 1:50k along the main road network.

Notes

The source data was particularly rich and, as a result, the detail
included in these maps is of greater than one might expect from
either 1:500 000, or 1:200 000 scale mapping.

Considerable effort has been put into enhancing the accuracy of
the road system using both ground survey and satellite imagery.

The topographic datasets are organised and structured according to
ISO TC-204-N-34 which ensures that they can be used with all
advanced technology platforms.

Topographic products can be used individually or in combination with any of the other products for Romania, originating from the same unique central database which has been created, and is maintained, by Geo Strategies.

The topographic maps for Romania are fully compatible with those for adjacent countries and so can be combined to produce a seamless, detailed map for the region. There is an illustrative sample of RO-Top-500K on our PDA web site.

The products are available in both vector or raster format and satisfy most application needs.

Larger scale topographic mapping can be produced on demand.

Maintenance: One update per year.

Terrain models are available at 100m and 50m resolution.

	RO-DTM-100	DTM at 100 metre spacing for the whole country.
	RO-DTM-50	DTM at 50 metre spacing for the whole country.
	RO-DTM-20	DTM at 20 metre spacing for city areas.
	RO-DTM-10	DTM at 10 metre spacing for city areas.

Hypsography can also be provided.
